Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration highlights captured in video

The Lincoln Theatre was the setting for Columbus State’s annual MLK Celebration last Thursday. Video Coordinator Mark Van Horn produced this video of some of the highlights. 





Final MLK Day event is Jan. 21

A Global Café titled “Addressing the Fierce Urgency of Now” will be held on Wednesday, January 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Nestor Hall West Lounge. The event is free and open to the public, and will help inform attendees about how to promote social justice and become engaged citizens.


Anderson joins advocate team in Disability Services


Jill Anderson has become the newest advocate in Disability Services, which now has four full-time advocates to better serve the growing population of students who are registered with the department.

Anderson is not new to the college, having worked as a sign language interpreter at Columbus State since 1998. In her new role, Anderson will have an opportunity to serve an even greater number of students. She joins the current advocate team of Brian Dixon, Adrienne Luke and Marie Potts. For more information on the role of Disability Services’ advocates, consult the Instructor Handbook on the Disability Services webpage.





2014 W-2s now available online

The Payroll Department has placed employee W-2s for 2014 online. Through ADP, the college’s W-2 provider, you have access to W-2 forms 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. A hard copy will also be mailed to all employees’ home address.

If you used this online system last year, you can log in to the system to retrieve your W-2 information. If you are a first-time user, you will need to register. Upon registration, you will be able to access your W-2 statement.

To register, follow these steps:

  1. Go to
  2. Click “Register Now”.
  3. Enter the Registration Pass Code which is: 1COUGAR-W2
  4. Enter your Name and select W-2 Services as the Service.
  5. The following information is required for validation purposes:
  • Full Social Security Number
  • Employee ID Number
  • Company Code VJC
  • Employee Zip Code
  • Tax Year

You will be prompted to complete the registration process and select a unique password. Your password must contain between 8 to 20 characters and at least one alpha and one numeric character. Additionally, you will be assigned a system-generated User ID. Once you have completed the registration process, you should bookmark the new URL,



aquinas hall

Aquinas sidewalk closed for ivy removal

Facilities Management will begin work today to remove ivy vines from the exterior of Aquinas Hall, and the sidewalk will be closed around the west entrance to the building (facing the quad), until work is completed later this week.


Counseling Services to begin recovery support group

Columbus State’s Counseling Services will launch an Alcohol and Other Drug Recovery Support Group in February. Students who seek support for substance use issues and who are committed to living a recovering lifestyle are invited to participate. The group will meet weekly beginning Tuesday, February 3, and will be facilitated by a licensed addictions specialist from the Counseling Services Department.
