Campus construction moving ahead

street scene

Work continues on the Grove Street/Jefferson Avenue reconstruction project in the back of the Columbus Campus. Sidewalks are also being added. The three-month project remains on schedule. This current stretch of Jefferson Avenue (pictured) will reopen later this month. While the initial construction has prevented access to student parking in lots 4-S and 5-S, one of them will open sometime next week as the work progresses.

Final call for Faculty Professional Development funding requests

The final FY2016 review of funding requests for professional development from tenure-track faculty members is currently underway. Funds may be applied to conference travel or workshops, professional memberships, or publications needed in faculty members’ field of expertise.

If you have prepaid such items with personal funds over the past year, the requests may be considered for reimbursement funding now. Additionally, in some cases, funds may be used to pre-pay July or August 2016 conference fees.

Please email requests no later than Sunday, June 19, to Charla Fraley. You will be notified of the final determination based on the availability of professional development funds.

Diversity blood drive to be held June 13

A special Red Cross Diversity Blood Drive will be held Monday, June 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Nestor Hall Lounge. The focus of this particular drive is to recruit more donors from ethnic minority groups.  Every blood donation is important and maintaining a diverse blood supply is a priority to the American Red Cross.

With college attendance down in the summer, and many regular donors vacationing, summer is an especially difficult time to collect enough blood donations to meet the need of patients.

If you've never donated with the American Red Cross, please take a few minutes and register here. Contact Brett Welsh for more information.
