The University System of Ohio is seeking nominations from students, faculty, and administrators for its 2010 Faculty Innovator Awards. These awards will recognize 10 faculty members and/or teams from Ohio's public universities, regional branch campuses, community colleges, and adult career centers for work they have done to introduce digital course materials in the classroom that enrich learning and make college textbooks more affordable for their students.

The Faculty Innovator Awards recognize outstanding faculty at University System of Ohio institutions who have creatively integrated digital content (video, simulations, e-texts and journals, visualizations, etc.) into their courses, ultimately lowering the out-of-pocket cost of course materials for students.

Lunch hour fun and games for employees!Because students shouldn’t be able to have all the fun, the Department of Student Activities and Athletics has scheduled an open gym for Columbus State faculty, staff and administrators on Wednesday afternoons from noon to 1:30 p.m. Now, at least once a week, employees at the college can have playtime during their lunch hour!
“Along with the Fitness Center and the Human Performance Center services, the Wednesday Faculty and Staff Recreation Open Gym is another opportunity to pursue fitness activities,” says Scott Nichols, supervisor of Athletics, Recreation and Intramurals. “The opportunity to play or learn other sports is also available if participants are interested.” Nichols said that volleyball, soccer, baseball, floor hockey, badminton or even just running around in the gym are all options for the open gym period.

So, stop by the Delaware Hall Gymnasium each Wednesday for a friendly game. If you have any questions contact Nichols at ext. 2616 or
