Computer repair class to donate PCs to veterans group
logoFreeGeeks @ CSCC will donate two PCs this quarter to Combat Vets for their fund raiser that benefits Fisher House. Fisher House provides free or low-cost lodging to veterans and military families receiving treatment at military medical centers.

FreeGeeks @ CSCC combines a traditional class with hands-on experience and service to the community. The students refurbish old PC equipment and grant them out to students in need. This also helps ensure that the equipment is given a new home so that it doesn't end up in a landfill.

FreeGeeks @ CSCC can use your unwanted computer equipment. Donations are tax deductible. Some of the items the FreeGeeks are looking for include:

  • 1 GHz processor or better, 512 Mb of RAM memory or better

  • LCD (flat panel) or CRT’s, (working monitors only please)

  • Routers, Hubs, Switches

  • Handheld devices, such as Palm Pilots
