Session on electronic teaching tools from ITDL
“Teaching with the New Electronic Tools: No Versions. No Walls. No Halls. No Problem!” is back by popular demand. No longer does learning have to stop at the door. Instruction has evolved, and so have the tools and channels. Attend this half-day session with Instructional Technologies and Distance Learning to get a hands-on look at how you can take the tools we have to create you own "brand" of instruction. The session will be offered on Friday, April 9 (9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.). Register A snack will be provided during this event.
Some inconvenience on Cleveland Ave.
On Tuesday, construction began on Cleveland Avenue for storm sewer improvements, and it is being reduced to one lane of two-way traffic with flaggers between Mt. Vernon Avenue and Spring Street. This restriction will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until mid-April, weather permitting. The work is being done by the City of Columbus.
Auto Tech scheduling fixes
The Automotive Technology Lab will be scheduling lab work for the AUTO 300 - Shop Experience class. If your car is 10 years old or newer, and has a problem that does not require major engine or transmission work, or a problem that has a labor time of 4.5 hours or more, then the shop experience class may be able to help.
For more information, please email Dave Hill at dhill@cscc.edu. Please note that there are a very limited number of appointments available and there is a $10 lab fee for work performed. No phone calls please.

Staff input is needed
Staff Advisory Council invites all staff to attend our next Council meeting on Thursday April 8 from 1-2:30 p.m. in Franklin Room 118. Council will be discussing a proposal for a Succession Planning Model for Columbus State staff. Succession Planning involves the following:
A process to identify professional development opportunities at Columbus State.
Identification of core competencies for supervisory, managerial and administrative positions.
Training to assist staff members with the development of the core competencies needed to meet the qualifications and apply for the supervisory, managerial and administrative positions.
We would like thoughts, input and assistance from all staff members in the drafting of this model to propose to Human Resources for review and consideration.
