New campus opens to public, President Harrison makes first tour
The new Delaware Campus officially opened for business yesterday at 8 a.m., and soon thereafter, the first two prospective students were welcomed by President Harrison and Dean Jan Rogers in the Enrollment Center, where a little more than a week ago we stood watching a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony. 

July 7 was Dr. Harrison’s first visit to the campus, and the Delaware Campus staff was ready to show him around. Click through the following photo gallery to see a few moments in Delaware’s First Day!

Jazz in July is today!
Hot temperatures and hot jazz are on the menu for today, starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Courtyard, when two bands, “fo/mo/deep,” and “Yumbambe” will play an outdoor concert at the annual Jazz in July, brought to you by Student Activities and Athletics.  Get your sunglasses, grab your lunch, and come out to enjoy the music until 1:30 p.m.!

Join the Columbus Jazz Arts Group for “PBJ & Jazz at the Topiary Park” at noon on Saturday, July 10 at the Topiary Park, 480 E. Town Street. Saturday’s concert features Derek DiCenzo & Friends. PBJ & Jazz at the Topiary Park concerts are free and follow family storytime at 11 a.m. at the Main Library. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic and a blanket. The noon concert will conclude with a hands-on art activity, from 1- 2 p.m., presented by the Columbus Museum of Art.

New campus print management vendor selected
New copiers to be installed this month

graphicPurchasing and Office Services recently completed an extensive print management proposal process with the goal of improving printing efficiency and reducing costs.  The winning proposal was submitted by Ikon Office Solutions, a Ricoh copier/printer dealer.

Benefits of the new print management contract are:

  • Significant cost savings with increased functionality.

  • Replacement of networked color printers at no cost.

  • Comprehensive training program that includes multiple forms of delivery.

  • Easy to use account code entry.

  • Improved tracking and reporting of copier and printer volumes.

  • A web-based solution for submitting jobs to the print/copy shop.

  • Maintenance and supplies on all networked printers will be provided by Ikon.

This is the first change in copier suppliers for the college in 20 years.  While Purchasing and Office Services will manage most of the activities required to ensure a smooth transition, the biggest change that you will notice is that your copier will switch from Xerox to Ricoh. Ikon has already installed copiers and printers at the new Delaware Campus.  New copiers will be installed by Ikon at the Off Campus sites and Columbus Campus over the next 3-4 weeks.  A building-by-building installation schedule will be published soon.

Onsite training will be conducted by Ikon when new copiers are installed, and a training open house is being planned for next month.  Additional details regarding training will be shared soon.

In addition to the equipment changes, we have also been working on a new print management program. Once the equipment has been installed and everyone has had time to become comfortable using it, we will communicate tips on how to print more efficiently and sustainably, building upon features such as network scanning that are currently in place.

paintingLeeman to exhibit in Zanesville
Stacy Leeman, adjunct instructor in Humanities, will participate in the 66th Annual Ohio Exhibition, August 14–October 30, at the Zanesville Museum of Art. The exhibit features artwork from professional artists and faculty from the art departments of Ohio colleges and universities, art students, and passionate amateurs. Leeman's painting, “Upstream #17” will be on display.
