Encourage a love of reading on World Book Night
Columbus State’s Bookstore will participate in a special event that was launched last year in the U.K called World Book Night.
On World Book Night, April 23 (William Shakespeare’s birthday) thousands of people across the country will be going out into their communities to hand out free paperbacks to light or non-readers.
The goal of World Book Night is to give books to new readers, to encourage reading, and to share your passion for a great book. The entire publishing, bookstore, library, author, printing, and paper community is behind this effort with donated services and time.
Go to the website to see a list of the 30 titles available for World Book Night.
Book-loving Columbus State volunteers can sign up to hand out books at this online site. The deadline to sign up has been extended to Monday, Feb.6, so hurry and sign up today! Once you are signed up, you will be given 20 free copies of a book to take to a location in your community and hand out. You will be able to pick up your books at the Columbus State Bookstore on April 16.
